HOW TO ACHIEVE UNDONE CURLS IN 5 MINUTES

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll probably know I’m very partial to soft, messy curls and I’m often asked how I achieve the look. It really is super simple so I thought I’d also chat about the ghd Curve Wand as well.

First off how to achieve this look, which I think is perfect for any parties throughout the festive season, it’s all really quite simple. There is no need for sectioning off hair or being fancy just grab random sections of hair and curl. The more random the better, promise. It’s also good to hold sections for different times and wrap the sections of hair in different directions around the wand. This really helps add texture and give you that ‘undone’ look. Another tip is when letting the hair down off the barrel I sometimes pull the curl so that it soften the finish – again I do this randomly so that it adds to the end result.

For styling products I keep it fairly simple with just a heat protectant and a spritz of texture spray at the end. If I really want a loose wave I brush out the curls before adding texture sprays however the above shot was from a morning so I wanted this to last throughout the day. The key to this look is keeping it simple and not worrying about being perfect!

The ghd Curve Creative Wand is the first ever ghd product I’ve used/owned and I feel incredibly lucky to have been gifted the wand. It’s also part of the gifting collection from ghd this Christmas – there are some amazing packs with the copper finishes (this particular set had a nail polish and copper details on the bag included). In terms of hair wands I can see why they are so highly spoken about online because they really are so easy to use. They heat up so quickly and I find my curls last longer when I’m using this wand compared to others. After using this hair tool it has definitely convinced me that a straightener is on the cards for purchasing in 2017. If you’ve been thinking about a ghd I would really recommend checking them out!

I have a GHD straightener. I’ve had it for years and I still love it! I can curl my hair with it but I’m not very good at it. I’ve always wanted a proper curling wand and knowing how good GHD is this one might be worth the investment. Better start saving! lol.

I’ve got the Soft Curl Tong that I won in a competition earlier this year, but tbh I’ve yet to master it. I am unco when it comes to styling my own hair & I’ve found that a curl doesn’t last long in my hair unfortunately (no matter how much prep work I do beforehand). I love your undone waves though!

Awww that’s a shame! I think certain hair just doesn’t like holding a curl. One of my friends has never been able to curl her hair

I’ve never tried a curling wand, but totally want to! I’ve always curled my hair with a straightener :) xx
