With high end brands like Hourglass, Smashbox and Kat Von-D absolutely killing it in the face palette department budget beauty brands have had to follow suit. We now can find some ace offerings at affordability prices and I have to say I’m pretty impressed.

Rimmel London Kate 002 Coral Glow
This was the first budget option I’ve tried and I have to say it is a firm favourite in my make up collection because I’m a long time lover of the  Rimmel blush formulation. Some people may cringe but it’s sheer and easy to build up an even colour so for a heavy-handed gal like me it works amazingly. I find the tones in this palette really fantastic for everyday and the formulation of the highlighter is great for a budget option – not too shimmery or chunky at all. The bronzer isn’t amazing for contouring in my opinion however using it more as an everyday sculpt-y bronzer it is great!

Maybelline Master Contour Medium to Deep
Now I’m going to start off by saying this isn’t the best shade for me and I haven’t seen the lighter palette too compare tones and shades. The blush and highlighter in the palette are a great formulation and apply evenly on the skin. As for the bronzer it is matte and swatches well so if you do have a darker skin tone or are looking for an affordable option this product may be one too look at.

L’oreal Infalliable Sculpt Palettes
I have both the light and the dark offerings of these are fantastic cream to powder options. I’ve never really worked with a cream contour before so I really appreciate the way that, similarly to the Rimmel option, this product builds up evenly but isn’t overly pigmented on first application. For me that is perfect as I find I have more control – for some they’ll hate that characteristic so just remember to swatch before you buy! I’ve been using the light palette for the past few weeks and I really enjoy the tonne for contouring however the highlighter I would give or take. I like it for adding contrast to my contouring but I don’t find it does much ‘highlighting’ if that makes sense (it is a matte formulation). I would 100% repurchase this for just the bronzer though because it’s a dream to work with.

I haven’t tried any of these at the moment but I have heard that the Rimmel one is very popular. I’m currently trying to finish my Napoleon Perdis Ultimate Contour palette which has similar shades before I try a different brand/product.
