Essie’s latest limited edition collection is a range is a gorgeous range of texturally interesting polishes – matte with what they call a micro-pearl throughout. It’s inspired by the beauty and elegance of the best cashmeres… Sounds fancy right? Here are my thoughts on the collection.

Within the Essie Cashmere Matte collection there are two polishes offering a normal matte, cream finish and these are the nudes shades, ‘Cozy in Cashmere’ is the darker and then ‘All Eyes on Nudes’ is the lighter. These are gorgeous polishes and although the lighter nude suits my skintone more I appreciate the darker shade for more of a bold statement.

The later four are all these interesting matte shades that have a micro-pearl shimmer throughout them. In the bottle they look intense and shimmery however once on the nails it’s more of a subtle shimmer throughout the matte finish. ‘Spun in Luxe’ is is my favourite the deep dark blue with micro-pearl and the rest (‘Cozy in Cashmere’, ‘Coat Couture’ and ‘Just Stitched’) are all wearable muted shades which are perfect for the matte finish.

In terms of formulation the ones with the micro-pearl are a little tricker to apply. I find one thicker layer gives you that desired finish rather then lots of thinner coats… It’s probably not what any professional will tell you do to but I find it you build the colours on top of each other they lose the micro-pearl finish to them…. Is that just me?

Overall the collection is no doubt innovative with the unique texture to them and if you’re a fan of matte nails these will be your jam!

I’m so excited about these new nail polishes! I’m going to have to get my little hands on them, I’ve never been much of a matte nail girl but the nude one looks amazing.

Haha I had a few people say that sort of thing over on Instagram. I have a huge collection of polishes so I don’t mind creating shots like this :)

3-4 days without chipping? I have to admit I added a top coat to some for a glossy finish and they were way better that way… I might try to hunt down an awesome matte top coat to wear with these :)

Oh these shades look so lovely, it’s getting me all the more excited for Fall. I haven’t actually purchased a matte nail polish, I have an OPI matte top layer that I use to mattify my existing nail polish collection. I may need to pick up the Spun in Luxe color though, it looks perfect!

The formula sounds so interesting and frustrating at the same time! Haha!
I am yet to own any Essie polishes so will probably try something from their regular line first. The shades do look gorgeous, though!
