Waterproof mascara is what I wear when I wear mascara. If you’re a fellow #droopylashgal you’ll understand the frustration that comes with finding something that works to hold a curl but isn’t a pain to remove at the end of the day. Here are four affordable options that are worth checking out!

1. Maxfactor Clump Defy Waterproof Mascara
Pictured here is the normal version because I had a blonde moment when picking it up and accidentally bought the regular formula, derp! The waterproof version is amazing though and this is one of my favourite mascaras of all time. It’s really buildable, separates the lashes and the curved wand allows you to coat every lash really easily. I used to rave about it non-stop so if you were wondering it’s still a firm favourite and one I recommend.

2. Colour Theory Waterproof Mascara
This is literally less than $8 and it’s fantastic for everyday. It’s a normal natural bristle brush which typically I don’t enjoy however this does a great job at lengthening and volumising. When you apply the mascara it does take a few layers because it’s a drier formulation but once built up you get a natural look perfect for everyday. The only negative to a drier formulation is I’m unsure how long it’ll last you but for the price it’s a really awesome option.

3. Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara Waterproof in Brown
Fun fact for y’all this mascara was the first mascara I ever bought and I repurchased for about 3 years before venturing out into new mascaras. Now I’ve gone back to it the brush isn’t my favourite because it’s so chunky and can be a little messy but the formulation is incredible. This gives you long and fluttery lashes within one coat and holds a curl all day. When built up it can clump but if you take your time you can get really fluttery lashes with this guy. Love it!

4. Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara
Along with Maxfactor I think that Maybelline do the best waterproof mascaras in the pharmacy easily. My ultimate fave is the Show Off! however this is their latest release and my daily weapon of choice at the moment. The wand is very similar to the one on the Clump Defy so again, it allows you to get right up into the root of the lash easily without making a mess. I really like how quickly this gives you dramatic lashes, one coat and it’s pretty intense. The only down side to this one is that it can be a little harder to remove then the other ones but overall it’s one I would recommend!

I am really enjoying Maybelline Lash Sensational but need to pick up the water proof formula to see how it compares. I love The Falsies mascara (also by Maybelline), it does so much for my lashes in terms of maintaining the curl. xx
