I’ve been experimenting with my make up a little more than usual because of this new foundation I’ve been using that’s actually really matte. When you think about it it’s strange something as trivial of the finish of your foundation can really change the way you feel and wear things but hey I’m not complaining about playing with new bits and bobs!
For my base I used that Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation I recently reviewed and as I said in that write up it’s quite matte and despite having a powder in the photo I actually didn’t use anything to set. It seems to set up on the skin quite quickly and it lasts really well without a powder. On the rest of my face I used the Laura Mercier Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze which is a tiny bit too dark for me when I’m not fake tanned at all but I just went with it and I don’t think it looked to bad. I topped that with the Maybelline Fit Me! Medium Nude Blush which is a bit of a nothing shade that just gives a little bit of a glow to the cheeks. I wouldn’t repurchase or recommend that particular shade but I use what I have.
The eyes is where I decided to go all out using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Inked Pink over the lids and a soft blush matte colour through the crease. I added a YoungBlood Pressed Shadow in Pink Diamond in the inner corner and called it a day. How gorgeous is that combination? I absolutely love it! The mascara is the Maybelline Sensational Mascara Waterproof and for brows I’m using the the Make Up Forever Aqua Brow again! Loving it too!
For lips I’ve been loving a rosy, glossy lip but to start off with I always line my lips. If you have uneven texture around your mouth like me try lining your lips first – it makes the world of difference. I used the Chi Chi Lip Liner in It Girl and then topped it with the Covergirl Outblast Lipstick in Darling. The combination is muted but I adore the hey-i’m-there-but-not-too-bold look.
