The latest foundation added to the Maxfactor line up has caused quite an excited stir in the beauty community. The newbie promises a healthy, flawless look to the skin with the line aiming to find ‘the perfect shade for you’. As always I’ve put it to the test throughout the day and here are the deets….
A bit more of a background about what Maxfactor are hoping the Miracle Match will do for you. It’s designed to blur imperfections, nourish the skin and be a flawless shade match for all. Sounds pretty amazing right? Essentially they’re saying it’s meant to feel like moisturiser on application, produce a medium coverage but still look really healthy. First off I want to say that the six shade that are available in Australia are not going to suit everyone. Six shades is pretty limiting but the formulation is really nice.. More on that in a second.
The texture of this foundation is super, super nice which I’m glad about because sometimes brands make promises and then it feels awful.. You know what I mean? But seriously the Miracle Match blends extremely well into the skin without much effort at all and then it feels really comfortable when set. I don’t think this is a medium coverage. I would say it’s a light/medium coverage but buildable. I’ve applied one pump all over my face and as you can see my skin imperfections are still quite visible. The finish is a little glowy but not in a disco ball way but in a healthy looks like skin way. I like it. What I don’t like is the extremely pungent biscuit-y smell that you have to put up with when applying. It’s strong and it’s not nice. In fact when I first tried this foundation I swore I’d never again (but I did for you guys!) and funnily enough after writing this I went to read other people’s reviews and not very many people mentioned it… Say what?! I digress. The smell does subside by the time you finish blending it over the skin and then it’s gone so if you can hold your nose whilst applying it’s probably for the best.
After 3 hours the wear of the foundation is looking good and it hasn’t really changed that much. I will say around my nose it does look a little cakey but that area is a little drier at the moment so I’m sure on a regular day it won’t be an issue. I have to say I wish I had of built the foundation up on this particular day because my skin isn’t look that great but oh well!
EXCUSE THE HORRIBLE WORN LIPSTICK LOL. After just under 7 hours (by like 10 minutes) the foundation is looking a little more worn. As you can see it’s got a bit more of a glow to it which doesn’t look awful. I’ve also lost some coverage around the chin area which is weird… It’s although it’s patched off? My skin is a little drier in that area but usually that makes foundations cake rather then patch off completely.
Overall it’s a nice foundation for a healthy skin look with a light-medium coverage that can definitely be built up however it does have it’s downfalls. The smell, weird wear after a long day and clinging to dry patches means for me it’s not something I’ll reach for on the daily. This will be reserved for days when I’m having a good skin day and I want to have something light on the skin without to much coverage. If that sounds like you it’s worth a try!
