The Clarins Extra-Comfort Anti-aging Foundation Clarins Extra-Comfort Anti-aging Foundation is a full coverage foundation I’ve had in my collection for a little while now and although I enjoyed it late last year I only just rediscovered it. Here is how it wears throughout the day and my thoughts on the product.
This foundation is designed to be moisturising but not oily, medium to full coverage with a satin finish and an SPF of 15. It’s another product that has age-defying ingredients to act as a dual purpose product – as most of you know I’m on the fence about this concept overall. I mean how much skincare can be provided through make up? I’m not too sure.
With one light layer you get a pretty hefty amount of coverage that definitely has a satin finish. It did cling down on my chin where my skin is chronically dry however apart from that I adore the finish! I don’t like the packaging because you do have to double dip however the way the product blends really seamlessly makes the consistency forgivable. It is a very pigmented foundation so a little goes a long way and it’s easy to apply too much when you’re not used to the pigmentation. I always use a blending flat top kabuki and it blends out super well. As always I did apply a light layer of powder to set. Now I know that some people find this feels heavy on the skin however I find it very comfortable so perhaps only applying a very small amount is key?
As you can see the foundation really hasn’t budged at all since the first application with everything looking pretty darn flawless. This is one of the only foundations I don’t see much of a difference between initial application and lunch time. It still feels great too!
Okay so if you don’t think that wear is impressive say WHAT! It’s crazy how well it wears. Now I admit this was a pretty cold day however I’ve been wearing it in the warmer weather with no issues at all. I just can’t believe it’s been sitting in my draw for so long with no love. It did breakdown further on my chin where my breakout is however I didn’t apply concealer and I never expect my foundation to last over problem areas like that just due to how dry and flakey the area is.
Now there is a slight negative to this product and that is the shade range – Clarins shade range is pretty darn sucky however if you can find your fit I’d highly recommendation this foundation! It’s long-lasting, feels great throughout the day and gives the skin a gorgeous finish.
