RIMMEL’S LASTING FINISH BY KATE NUDE COLLECTION LIPSTICKS REVIEW & SWATCHES

Lasting-finish-by-kate-nude-collection-2

One of the latest (and most exciting) launches into the pharmacy is from Rimmel and it’s their Nudes collection. This line adds to the ever popular Lasting Finish by Kate, one of my personal faves, and consists of five nude lipsticks to fuel the trend of a nude lip.

Like the original line the shades are numbered rather then named which is slightly disappointing and boring but that’s nothing major… I mean you can’t dislike a product just because it doesn’t have a name. The packaging is a light peach but in design it is reminiscent to the original line as well. It’s lightweight and practical. The formulation is smooth, opaque and comfortable on the lips. They are a nice texture with decent lasting power so that I cannot fault. The colour range is a different story. I understand why Rimmel have included three midtone colours - because it suits a fair chunk of people however after playing with them more and more I wish there was more depth to each shade and a little more variety. The 5 shades are limited. In order of swatches above they go 40, 42, 43, 45 and 48. 45 is easily my favourite colour with 43 being a close second.

Although I’m still in two minds about the overall colour selection available I do give the thumbs up to the actual product so if you find a shade you like it’s worth picking up.

The only one I could really get to work properly for me was 45, I just found the others far too light. I didn’t see 48 though, that one looks lovely! x

I agree that 43 is the best. It’s slightly similar to velvet teddy. <3

  • Rimmel lipsticks are definitely some of the best at the drugstore, I love their regular Kate formula and the mattes as well as the moisture renew line. I’m not really one for nude lipstick because I have no idea how to pick the right shade for me that doesn’t look like concealer on my lips and also because I just feel more comfortable in a red, but I might end up picking one of these up to see how I go, especially because I already know the formula is going to be great!
