TOP 6 SKINCARE DISCOVERIES FROM 2015

top-6-eye-make-up-discoveries

Take 2 on the top discoveries from 2015 and we’re onto skincare. You may notice that there are 6 in this post but there were 5 yesterday. That’s because I just couldn’t condense it down any further! I also choose not to include something from ever category instead opting for just the things I discovered that I REALLY loved.

Have you seen my top 5 hair discoveries yet? They’re all pretty ace!

The Medik8 Eye Cleanse Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover was a no brainer. I still am not over how incredible this product is. You need the tiniest amount and it just removes every trace of make up, even waterproof mascaras that are usually stubborn, with ease. If you’ve struggled to find an effective eye make up remover in the past I highly recommend picking this one up. I spoke about it more in this full review. Keeping with the eye area and I have two eye creams I’ve been really enjoying for night time… I haven’t found a holy grail for during the day yet! The first one for an good overnight treatment is the L’Occitane Eye Care & Mask Duo that can be used for both but I just use it as a regular eye cream every few nights. It’s a super hydrating, gel consistency that you apply with the steel applicator which helps depuff. It’s really helps with any texture issues under the eyes. The other eye cream I cannot live without is the Jurlique Nutri-Define Eye Contour Balm. It’s very similar to the Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream (that I loved for years) but it has more natural ingredients and is slightly more hydrating. If you have seriously dry eye area like me this is the one to try!

For a cleanser I felt like I never really found one to replace my beloved Go To Skincare Foaming Cleanser or the Clarins Anti-Pollution Cream Cleanser both of which I haven’t replaced this year at all (it’s killed me). The Jurlique Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Cleansing Mousse came really close to the Go-To Skincare though and I found it was really gentle throughout winter and into spring. Just an effective, gentle, great quality cleanser and something I would repurchase again.

Last up I have two moisturisers to talk about and the first I won’t dribble on about because I have talked about the Skinstitut Moisture Defence Normal Skin Moisturiser over and over. It’s a gel based moisturiser that is amazing at hydrating the skin without making your skin feel overloaded with product. I feel like if you wanted a super basic routine you could use this morning and night because it’s so great at moisturising the skin. The other moisturiser I wanted to mention is an SPF because it’s so damn hard to find good quality SPF’s that don’t clog your pores or disrupt the wear of your make up. The Clarins Sunscreen Control Cream for Face does neither of those things and almost has a matte finish. It does have a scent so sensitive skinned girls maybe grab a tester but for me I haven’t had any issues at all.

Oooh I am pretty sure I have the Skinstitut moisturiser sitting somewhere in my stash – will have to fish it out and give it a proper go! Love the end of the year for these kinds of posts! x
