TOP-5-HAIR-DISCOVERIES-2015-2

Welcome back everyone! I hope y’all had an amazing Christmas and your bellies aren’t too sore from all the delicious food. Today kicks off the week-long series that I’ve put together showcasing my top product discoveries from the whole year last year. I’ve condensed each category down too the best of the best so I hope you guys enjoy. Warning: so much gushing is going to happen this week!

This year was a year I never really fell in love with a shampoo and conditioner duo. I liked a fair few that I used but never loved any enough to repurchase over using what I already had in the beauty stash. Luckily I did find some really killer styling brands and products. The first brand being Kevin. Murphy and oh boy have I been blown away!!! My salon uses their products and I’d always loved the scent but never purchased anything until the Un.Tangled Leave In Conditioner which is hands-down a holy grail product for me. I find this detangles like a dream and I don’t feel like I have to apply an oil if I don’t want. Pretty much it’s a knotty-haired girls best friend and a must try from the range. The other product I discovered from KM is the gorgeous Fresh Hair Dry Shampoo. I’ve always had a love hate relationship with dry shampoo until I found this one and it’s just love love LOVE. Not only does it really absorb oils, it’s easy to work in and doesn’t have the horrid dry shampoo scent. Although it is a little more pricey a little goes a long way and I will be repurchasing.

Onto some styling product and a late addition to the line up is the S-Factor Smooth Lusterizer Defrizzer & Tamer. It’s AMAZING for this time of year especially if you have frizzy locks. I apply a hazelnut amount to the ends and my hair dries naturally so much better than usual. It smells great and doesn’t weigh down the hair. This product really did surprise me because I didn’t fall in love with the shampoo and conditioner from this line! Regardless an awesome styling product and it really makes a difference if you’re prone to frizz.

When my hair is dry and looking a little limp/dry/frizzy my saviour has been Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist. It’s an absolute life saviour for day two hair, when things are looking a little funky, I spray it in before I go to bed and when I wake up, it just reduces so much of that frizzy or dry looking texture to the hair. It may be a gimmicky product but it seriously works incredibly well for me and my dry/frizzy mane. Another product I use on dry hair is the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray. I know hold the phone I have the cult favourite in my hair stash!!!!! Now I LOVE the L’oreal Tech.Artist Texture Spray (if you’re on a budget this is awesome) but the way this is very light in the hair makes it a little hard to match. It gives the hair so much volume, smells amazing and you only need a tiny amount so a little goes a really long way. I love how it doesn’t leave any residue or that crispy feeling to the hair so you don’t feel like you have to wash it the next day. I do prefer the L’oreal offering if I want hold but for everyday use I reach for the Oribe.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas gorgeous!

I started using the Paul Mitchell Moisture Mist this year too and fell in love. I’ll need to check out the other products you mentioned, as I haven’t tried any of them!

I used a lot of masks this year and my favourite was definitely the Toni & Guy Nourish Reconstruction mask, I did a review back in July xx

Hope you had a wonderful christmas break :)

Ah you’ve got the famous Oribe in your stash! I really want to try that, I’m always wanting some extra volume and I love the fact that it doesn’t leave residue or make your hair crispy. Crispy hair is the worst!

I’m not huge on styling products lately…i didnt use anything other than shampoo, conditioner and a hair oil all year and just like you didn’t find a duo I fell in love with. I do love Kevni Murphy though. They have some great products! <3

Yay MTA is back! Since going some bright colours in my hair, it has been saved by Niophlex as a hair condition maintenance product and also the Dove dry hair oil.
