Each season I think Essie does a really fantastic job at keeping the collections unique and different to your stereotypical colours you expect. Sure they do chuck in a few shades that we are all looking for but I’m always impressed at how the brand pushes the boundaries with their colour palette. This season we see the likes of a coral ‘Lounge Lover’ and a peachy nude ‘High Class Affair’ being fairly standard shade offerings that I wouldn’t say are anything too special. They’re just nice. That being said I found the opaqueness of the peach pretty good in terms of lighter pastel shade and it was good to go with two coats.

Now for the fun colours! ‘Shades On’ is this vibrant milky purple that looks bangin’ on the nails. When I sport this shade I feel like Miley Cyrus but in a circa 2009 before the pixie cut and bootie shorts (which I of course love equally but you get my drift). Essie really nail the fluorescent pastel shades and this is a real gem. Another unique shade I wouldn’t expect to see in a Spring collection in ‘Off Tropic’ which is this gorgeous deep green shade. It’s like the perfect shade for Christmas nails but in a good way because it’s deep and sophisticated… I could of swear I saw a Chanel release very similar to this last year? I digress it’s a winner with a great formulation.

A shade I think lots of people will love is ‘Sunshine State Of Mind’ because it’s literally the most vibrant orange I’ve come across with a killer formulation – so opaque and relish. OK guys you’re probably like Sarah talk about the gorgeous muted blue – I saved it till last because I’m totally head of heels in love with this shade. ‘Pool Side Service’ is absolutely beautiful. If you’re a fan of subtle colours but you want something a little unique then this is for you. On the nails it’s really flattering against my pasty skin, bring on summer, but it also looks fab with a tan. Without a doubt a stand out shade from the Spring collection.

Have you got your eye on any of these new shades? What’s your pick?
