5 SUMMER LIPSTICKS FOR EVERY BUDGET

5-spring-lipsticks

When I think of summer I think for bright orange hues or barely there make up because for me there really isn’t anything in between. You’ll spot me with either a full face or absolutely nothing but a lip colour tapped in for a wash of colour. Today I thought I’d take you through some of my favourite options right now.

If you’re a long time reader you’ll know my absolute obsession with Shanghai Suzy so there is probably no surprise that I’ve got two from the new collection in this round up (full review/swatches here). Miss Louise Peachy Nude is that perfect lip colour for wearing sheerly when you’re sporting little or no make up. It gives a bitten, nude appearance to the lips and remains completely understated. I can’t wear this really heavily on the lips because it is a lighter shade but for a no-make-up-make-up it’s dreamy. On the other end of the spectrum Miss Andrea Tangerine gives a big whack of colour and it’s seriously divine. Normally I find oranges can make things look a little weird and teeth a little yellow but this is the perfect shade to make a statement with.

If you’re after a coral colour then Mac Impassioned is where it is at. It’s intense, pink with a good injection of coral to make it a fab statement lip option during the warmer months. I have to be honest and say it isn’t my worst worn but it is a really flattering colour and one that when I wear it makes me feel like a #girlboss. Party Parrot, a limited edition colour MAC released in 2014, rivalled this however Impassioned just has the best formulation so it won hands down.

Are nudes your jam? Yes? Well it’d be rude of me not to mention two of my favourites of all time. The first being the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour in Devotion. I find sometimes this look super intense, especially when I’ve skipped the fake tan, but other times it looks like the most effortless lip colour – very my-lips-but-better. It’s not so much the colour I’m in love with when it comes to this product. Despite it being the most gorgeous of shades the formulation is what takes the cake. It’s long lasting without being uncomfy and doesn’t make your lips feel like a dry prune – win! You all know I’m a sucker for the Lanolips Tinted Lips and this one in Rose is the best lip treatment/glos hybrid that’s ever touched my lips. True.

What are your favourite lip colours for summer?

Excellent picks! I wish I could wear orange tones, but alas, they just don’t suit my cool skin. I love wearing the Rhubarb tint from Lanolips on days where I’m sans makeup – it’s my MLBB shade methinks.
